Its own buses, two counties, and one bridge.
Wilsonville runs its own transit system, SMART (South Metro Area Regional Transit), and most SMART buses are free. Riders 60 and older can book SMART's free 60+ Dial-a-Ride on weekdays, and a $3 medical shuttle runs into the Portland metro. The city also sits in two counties. Most of it is in Clackamas County, and part of it is in Washington County, so the aging-services office you call depends on the address. Then there's the river. Charbonneau, a community of about 1,500 households inside city limits, is reached by an I-5 exit just south of the Boone Bridge, the only Willamette crossing within 15 miles of town center. Neighborhoods range from Villebois, built around the former Dammasch State Hospital, to Frog Pond in east Wilsonville, with its rural edge. We plan each care schedule around the rides, bridge and house your parent actually has.
