Parkinson's home care in Salem, OR
Parkinson's affects movement, balance, and the daily tasks that depend on both. We help with the daily, the routine, and the fall-prevention.
What dementia home care covers.
Dementia home care from Pasha is in-home care from an Oregon-licensed comprehensive agency, delivered by trained caregivers and focused on the daily tasks, communication, safety, and presence that memory loss makes difficult. It runs alongside (not instead of) the care your parent gets from their doctor or memory clinic.
It covers
- Daily care: bathing, dressing, meals, mobility
- Medication administration, nurse-delegated under doctor's orders
- Communication and de-escalation
- Home safety and fall prevention
- Companionship and routine anchoring
- Family education and respite
It does not cover
- Diagnosis or treatment planning
- Physical or occupational therapy
- Emergency medical care (we call 911 and stay close)
Care that scales with the disease.
Parkinson's progression varies widely. We adapt visit cadence and content as movement and tremor change.
Early stage
Mild forgetfulness, occasional confusion. The right care here is light-touch. Companionship, routine anchoring, and a watchful eye for changes.
Middle stage
More noticeable memory loss, communication difficulty, behavior changes. Visit length increases. Same-caregiver consistency becomes critical.
Late stage
Significant cognitive and physical decline. Full personal care, mobility support, often around-the-clock presence. We coordinate with hospice when families choose it.
Six things that change when a caregiver is trained for this.
Same caregiver, every visit
Memory care depends on familiarity. A new face every shift is the worst version of this service.
Communication training
Caregivers trained in plain-language redirection, validation, and de-escalation. Behavior is communication.
Home safety walk-through
Lighting, rugs, locks, kitchen, bathroom. We map fall-risk and wandering-risk before the first visit.
Family education sessions
What to expect at each stage, what to plan for, when to call us, when to call someone else.
Wandering & exit-seeking protocols
Door checks, ID, GPS-watch coordination, and neighborhood-aware caregivers who know your parent's typical paths.
Quarterly care-plan reviews
Memory care is a moving target. We re-plan every quarter, or sooner if something changes.
"We interviewed four agencies. Pasha was the only one that gave a straight answer about what their dementia training actually covers. Six months in and my mom still asks for the same caregiver by name."
